Spell Write Lists - You must know all these word
Independent Spelling Lists
Each Monday make up your own individual spelling list of 10 to 15 words. Write these words in your spelling note book. Choose words that you need to learn and interesting words that you want to include in your writing. Get the words for your list from a variety of places including:
• thesaurus words from your work book
• highlighted words from readings you have done
• spelling errors from last weeks sentences
• spelling errors from other written work
• find an interesting word in the dictionary
PS. You must be able to spell all the words form the Spell Write lists. Make sure you know all these words first.

Look, say, cover, write and check
Using 'Look, say, cover, write and check' can help you to remember how to spell words that you find difficult.
Look at the shape of the word. Can you see any patterns or groups of letters that go together? Are there any words within words?
Say the words carefully and slowly to yourself. Try to listen for the sounds in the words.
Cover the word. Try to picture the word in your mind, closing your eyes might help you to do this.

Write the word down.
Check to see if it is correct. If the word isn't quite right don't worry, just try again. It can often take a few attempts to get it right.
